Fraser Island Ferry Times
Essential Information
Drivers:
Drivers must be 21 years of age or over and be in possession of a current drivers license.
Bond:
A bond security of $750 will be required
Insurance:
Insurance Excess on all vehicles is $5000. Excess reduction insurance can be taken out to reduce this.
Insurance waiver option:
Excess can be reduced in increments of $500 by payment of excess reduction insurance of $5 per vehicle per day per $500.
Example: $10 per day reduces the excess to $4000, $20 per day reduces the excess to $3000 etc.
Excess can be reduced to a minimum of $500 (i.e. $45 per day)
Fuels & Fees:
Bay 4WD can arrange your ferry transfers and the National Parks and
Wildlife permits required for driving and camping on the island.
Restrictions:
Vehicles can not be taken past Indian Head. Vehicles can not be driven after dark.

Bay 4WD Hire can provide you with all of your camping needs.
Camping equipment hire available from $15.00 per person per night
Includes:
- Tent (2 man)

- Hammer and shovel
- Water & storage containers
Camping permits are required. Rates are $4.50 per person per night or $18.00 per family (2AD/2CH) per night. Bay 4WD can arrange these permits for you.
