Departure Details

Walks are scheduled to leave on ODD days of the month

Meet in Hervey Bay at customer accommodation at either 7.30 am or 9.00 am

All permits and transfers organised. Credit card bond of $200.00 per person taken and released on return of equipment.

Safety
Due to safety we do not encourage solitary walkers; walks will only run with a minimum of 2 people.
Suitable for people with an average fitness level (max 12 km longest day).

Itinerary

Day 1 allows you to 4wd along the beach seeing beach attractions like, Eli Creek and the Maheno Ship Wreck, but the adventure doesn't stop here. After a refreshing swim down Eli Creek get ready for the first part of your hike into Lake Wabby.
Walk 3 km into unique Lake Wabby and the hikers camp for your first secluded night under the stars.

Day 2 swim in the emerald waters before packing up and taking the hikers coast-to-coast track through majestic untouched forest to Lake McKenzie, (12km)
Camp at the Lake McKenzie hikers camp right beside the beautiful blue lake
Have the lake to your selves and experience its beauty at sunset, sunrise, full moon / stars.

Day 3 Enjoy an easy 8km hike out via Kingfisher Bay Resort for a few celebratory drinks at the end of your trek

Take the 2.00 pm or 5.00 pm barge back to River Heads where your shuttle to Hervey Bay awaits.
